People behind the purpose.
A shared commitment to turn a compassionate vision into a practical, evidence-informed community-care programme.
REMA is driven by a simple but important belief: every person deserves access to compassionate, affordable and dignified care, particularly when they are most vulnerable. REMA Care supports communities by bringing quality palliative and supportive care closer to those living with life-limiting illnesses, disability and the challenges of old age. More than a care facility, our community-based model combines inpatient, outpatient and home-based care while promoting health awareness, community participation and partnerships. We work with healthcare professionals, researchers, government, donors, churches, development agencies and communities to sustain an approach to care that restores dignity, comfort and hope.
Common Goal Research Center partners with REMA CBO to ensure that REMA Care is informed by robust evidence and a clear understanding of community needs. Our role is to generate evidence on the experiences, challenges, and care needs of people living with life-limiting illnesses and other conditions requiring long-term support. Through ongoing research, data collection, and analysis, we develop insights that help REMA strengthen and adapt its care services to respond effectively to the realities faced by individuals, families, and communities. This partnership enables REMA Care to deliver services that are not only compassionate and person-centred, but also responsive, effective, sustainable, and grounded in evidence and professional knowledge.
My role is to coordinate REMA Care and help translate REMA's vision into a practical and sustainable community-care programme. This involves service planning, stakeholder engagement, community participation and day-to-day coordination as the initiative continues to grow. Our objective is to maintain a professional and affordable care model that responds to the realities of the communities we serve. Every stage of our work is approached with accountability, compassion and a clear focus on improving the quality of life of vulnerable people.
